A range of apartments and penthouses are on offer with a new landmark development in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Designed by Sydney architect Luigi Rosselli, Ode in Double Bay occupies a corner site at 19-27 Cross St that links to a public plaza with street-level dining options.
The lifestyle development will have a mixture of 15 three- and four-bedroom penthouses spread out over five levels – with the expected start date in 2023 to be completed in 2025.
Penthouses in the Double Bay development range from $9.695m to $25m.
While specific pricing for the penthouses hasn’t been announced by Ode, the general starting price for a three-bedroom residence is $9.695m and ranges up to $25m.
Levels four and five of the development will have floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the harbour.
Prices in the Double Bay development vary depending on penthouse size.
The development is set to be built by Top String Australia.
Top managing director Sydney Ma said the development will connect people and communities by combining innovation, cutting-edge technology and design.
“We’ve focused on delivering an incomparable destination address that befits the epicentre of the East,” Mr Ma said.
“We’ve designed Ode, Double Bay as a seamless integration between architecture, interiors and art with a commitment to a masterful expression of creativity, design and environmental principles.”
The development features 15 or so three-bedroom and four-bedroom penthouses.
The three and four-bedroom apartments offer 219 sqm and 311 sqm internal floor plans and are created to appeal to local owner-occupiers and downsizers.
Location is also a major selling point for the development, being minutes away from the ferry, bus and Edgecliff station – offering convenience for buyers looking to live the luxury village lifestyle with access to the CBD.

Features of the penthouses include expansive rooftop terraces, a BBQ, a spa, entertaining areas and views of Sydney Harbour.
Services for residents will include making reservations for events and dining, organising dry cleaning, receiving deliveries and co-ordinating access for cleaning and maintenance.
Many of the penthouses in the Double Bay development feature curved windows or walls.
Designer Luigi Roselli believes the new development will help drive the unprecedented renaissance of Double Bay, a suburb he labels as ‘one of Australia’s most coveted suburbs.’
“My design echoes the modernist architectural style of Oscar Niemeyer, Gio Pointi and Le Corbusier – a positive optimistic response to the global re-emergence into the 1950s,” Mr Rosseli said.
“I feel, post-pandemic, that it’s the perfect opportunity to revive their joyful approach, boldly embracing innovation and asymmetry in the fusing of organic shapes, geometric forms and sinuous lines.”
Over the past year, median house prices in Double Bay have risen by 10 per cent to $6.35m.
Meanwhile, the median price for an apartment or unit is $1.909m.
